Mary Ringo
GORDON – Mary Ringo, 98, of Gordon passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Stephenville. Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 30, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Gordon with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Burial followed in the New Gordon Cemetery. Mrs. Ringo was born on December 22, 1911 in Gordon to John & Myra (Witt) Merriman. She married Everett Ringo on January 9, 1929. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and had worked in the Gordon school cafeteria for many years, retiring in 1976. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; a son, John; and a great-granddaughter, Tiffany. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lucille Barron of Gordon; 2 grandsons, Clifford Barron of Gordon and Jimmy Barron of Tolar; 3 great-grandsons, Mike Barron, Montie Barron and Brad Barron; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Brady, Brock, Baileigh & Brylee; and a sister, Oma Sperling of Gordon. Memorials donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Tri-City Ambulance Service.
Verle Brown
RANGER- Verle Brown, 80, of Ranger died Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Ranger. A memorial service was held at the Brown residence 1301 Spring Road, Ranger on Thursday, July 29th at 10 a.m. Verle was born May 25, 1930 in Santa Anna, Texas to Linton and Ada Brown. He graduated from McCamey High School in 1949. Verle married the love of his life, Barbara Sue Medford, on December 27, 1973 in Post, Texas. They moved from Post to Lake Stamford where they made their home. Verle loved to fish, hunt and weld. He was a member of the Ft. Stockton masons. He was a loving, caring and vibrant person who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sons, Randy Hudgens and Richard Lynn Hudgens. Survivors are his wife, Barbara Sue Brown; son, James Earl Brown and wife Becky of Stephenville, TX; daughters, Jenny Harrington and husband Roger of Midland, TX, Julie Childers and husband Brent of Spring, TX, Jill Boren of Snyder, TX, Darla Davis of Ranger and Carla Crutchfield and husband Rodney of Keller, TX.; two brothers; two sisters; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Frances Hamilton
CISCO- Frances Lorene Hamilton, 91, of Cisco passed away July 30, 2010, at the Homestead Nursing & Rehab. Services will be Monday, August 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Kimbrough Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.
